We believe the biggest barrier to reading Japanese isn't vocabulary or grammar — it's the lack of accessible, level-appropriate content. Japanese Reading Practice exists to remove that barrier.
Every article is written at a specific JLPT level, with furigana on every kanji, a click-to-lookup dictionary, audio narration, and comprehension quizzes. You can start reading in 5 seconds — no signup required.

Our articles cover 20+ topics including daily life, travel, food, culture, technology, environment, and business. Each article is carefully written to use vocabulary and grammar appropriate for its JLPT level, based on official JLPT guidelines.
Every article includes a Japanese body text, furigana annotations, a vocabulary list with readings and English meanings, and 3 comprehension questions with explanations.

JMdict Dictionary
Our click-to-lookup feature is powered by JMdict, the comprehensive Japanese-English dictionary maintained by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group.
FSRS Spaced Repetition
Our review system uses FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler), an open-source algorithm that optimizes review intervals based on your performance. It's more efficient than traditional SRS algorithms like Anki's SM-2.
